Examples of hard drive data recovery

datlabs data recoveryHere’s my latest data recovery post. I was able to retrieve much of the data from these hard drives myself after I’d fixed them. My thanks to the experts at http://www.datlabsdatarecovery.co.uk/ for their assistance in retrieving the data from some of the hard drives.

I have a 1TB WD external hard drive which I use as back up for my iMac and MacBook Pro. When I plugged into my MacBook Pro a couple of days ago the drive was not being seen by the laptop until after a long while, after which it said it needed repair. After clicking on the pop up box the drive appears in Finder but cannot copy or save to the drive. The same problem then occurred on the iMac but now the drive is not showing up at all. I need all the data recovered which was about 5-600 GB.

The HDD has been corrupted and will not power on, the HDD has been given to fields data recovery who have diagnosed the issue. This should be a easy fix as it has already been diagnosed, The reason why I have come to you is that your quote seems to be more reasonable than fields who started quoted £200 then bumped the price up to £1320 which is quite unreasonable. HDD has had a complete rebuild within our clean lab which included a platter swap, the head assembly unit was replaced, the magnetics aligned, the motor replaced and the firmware being repaired. HDD was channelled through an identical working HDD so that the sectors could be manipulated and an image created during the process. The image is then scanned for data which is repaired via Data Extractor and rebuilt using software and mapping. The diagnosis has been completed on the damaged HDD and the technician has advised that they can recover approx 69GB of data. A total of 3025 recoverable files and 860 folders. I hope you can help!

External hard drive 1tb fell to the floor during transferring files.
Mac cannot tell the hard drive is connected. Hard drive makes a kind of repetitive ‘bzzt’ sound when connected, the LED lights up but nothing happens.

Lacie external hard drive (mac formatted) is clicking and beeping.

Got my old laptop back ( was buried in the attic with all my other stuff) took it back out and tried to turn it on .. the laptop works fine but it’s not recognising the hard drive and it’s also saying operating system not found , tried it on my partners laptop and it’s definetly the hard drive that’s not being recognised

Hard drive is damaged. Been hit.

My laptop (Lenovo ideapad z580) completely died. I have removed the hard drive and tried putting it in an external enclosure but two other windows pcs don’t recognise it. It vibrates slightly but makes no noises when connected to them. Is this something you can help with, and what would it cost? I am in London.
