The company I work for has a Qnap server running a RAID setup which I believe to be RAID 5. It has 12 disks which are a 2TB. Over the last week 2 of the hard drives in the array failed and now the server will not start. I have swapped out the hard drives with hot spares but the system still does not boot. We are in the London area and there is a similar system with the same problems in the North West – Manchester to be specific. This is an identical 12 disk RAID 5 system that is running in degraded mode. We need the data from both ideally as quickly as you are able to recover it. Do you provide an emergency service?
The server started running slowly about a month ago and we only had limited access to our files. The machine contains server VMs on a network share and we can’t access two of them. The Virtual Machines are important and they contain data that run some business critical operations including an MySQL database. I’ve looked at the RAID 5 BIOS settings and can confirm that two of the drives are offline and the RAID is running in degraded mode. Ideally we would like you to collect the whole system and recover the data off the QNAP RAID onto something similar that we can attach to our company network that everyone can have access to.
Can’t access Toshiba external hard drive
I have an external USB hard drive (Toshiba) which my computer can no longer access. I have tried other computers which have the same issue and tried a new cable; it is recognised as a hard drive but can’t be accessed and is very slow to load. I have downloaded recovery software but the software won’t start while the hard drive is connected. The same issue occurs with some other software. Is this something you may be able to fix and how much would it be? I am based in Croydon and can come into your London data recovery clinic.
Samsung Galaxy not powering up
My daughter has a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (so it’s quite old), and can no longer be powered up. It is not the battery or the charging port that is faulty, and I have been told (and I don’t understand the technicalities) that something controlling the power supply on the Motherboard has failed, and that a replacement part is no longer available. A friend recommended a data recovery clinic in Northampton – is it possible to call in with my phone?
Is it possible to recover data such as photos, contacts, texts etc from the device, and if so, what would be the cost?
Would I be able to send the device to you?
Opensuse data recovery
My laptop has two OS (windows and ubuntu 14.04); it has been running fine for more than 10 months. Till I tried creating a bootable usb (openSuse) to install it on my second laptop. But, then I safely turned off my laptop, then shortly I turned it on again (I forgot the usb plugged in), the welcome screen for opensuse appeared. I rebooted again, pressed f9 couldn’t find a choice other than (boot from EFI, boot from hard disk). Tried both choices, didn’t go anywhere. Still the openSuse welcome screen.
Then, I took the laptop to a technician in London he removed the hard disk from the laptop and mounted it in his desktop. The partition table was unallocated. He removed 4.3GB (I assumed its the linux system) and the windows partition was recovered. But, my main goal was to recover the project folder in the linux partition (in this path /home/mogo/Documents/Project).
The following day, a security engineer tried testdisk and photorec. Test disk was able to view the project directory and I saw my files there. Here comes a problem, when he tried copying the files to my passport hdd (western digital) most of my important data in the project directory failed the copying process. That engineer couldn’t help me further and he suggested that I do it myself. So I tried further attempts on my own and couldn’t do more than what he did.
Please, I would like to know if you will be able to retrieve that specific directory and how much does this usually cost?
That all happened during my vacation in the United Arab Emirates. I’ll be back in the UK on the 5th of September. My laptop is hp g6-2295sa and the hard disk is 1000Tb SATA Samsung.
Get the Pictures of old iPhone
I have a couple of old iphones that I would like the pictures off of. I’m not sure which phone they are on out of the two but it was a really special holiday and I can’t get the phones to switch on at all. I know the photos are on the phone and not on the cloud. I would really love to get those photos saved and stored securely. The holiday was in 2011, so that’s a frame of reference for how old the phone is.
Where’s the best place in the UK to get the data from a phone or hard drive recovered? If you ask me the answer has got to be Data Clinic Ltd. They’ve been in the business of retrieving lost files and folders from digital devices that aren’t accessible anymore for almost 20 years. With various office locations around the country, including London and Manchester, Data Clinic are a good place to go if you want your data back.
Spilled drink, now computer not working
Someone spilled drink on my laptop and it is no longer working. It has been with a computer repair guy but he says the memory chip is fried so the data isn’t recoverable. Would you be able to do anything with it or is it definitely gone? Thank you!

Hard drive says Please Wait…
The hard drive was removed from an old Apple iMac, in working condition. been used for a while with an external caddy. Hard drive now will mount, but no longer shows the contents, the computer can be seen to try and show the data, but it just says please wait and doesn’t get anywhere. Need memos off of Samsung Galaxy S5 London
Earlier this week I was trying to sync my memos on my samsung galaxy s5 but it was saying that there was a syncing error so i decided to sign out then sign back in because I couldn’t find an explanation online for it but when I signed back in. My memos were gone and i was so distraught because I had like 198 of them that are important to my career and i’ve recorded them over the period of 5 years. Yesterday when I spoke to someone from samsung London I realised that a sync error means that i didn’t have enough space and that signing out while you have a error would delete the memos and because it’s an old model it doesn’t have a recycling bin but I thought the would automatically be saved on the phone because a sync is just copying them. I wanted to know if there was anything you could do. I can bring the phone in for data recovery in London.

My external Hard Drive (WD Elements 2TB) is not being read by the computer quite out of the blue. It stays in my office, was working yesterday, and has not ben dropped or damaged. When connected, the light turns on and you can hear the disk spinning (in a regular way, no ticking noise or anything). I have tried different USBs, different ports, different computers. We are a business in Westminster, London looking for a local data clinic.
Hi, I have an external Western Digital hard drive which has experienced damage to the heads, although it appears no damage to the platter. The drive has been evaluated by a data recovery company in Croyden who cover central London who have replaced the heads and are able to access the data. They have identify that 94.74GB of data is on the drive made up of 1884 folders and 18152 files, they have also given a 95% or better confidence rating that they are able to recover the identified files.
The cost I have been quoted to recover the data is well beyond the value I place on it; therefore I am looking for more competitive quotes to recover the data. Based on the information provided are you able to supply me with a quote to recover the data?
No power indication, No notification light or power on but detected though USB on P.C would like to recover all data on mobile.
Dropped my WD my passport portable device and now it no longer works. Can’t get it to work, partition cannot be found. Need to restore all folders on it.
Accidentally permanently deleted a lot of files from my SSD hard drive.
I dropped my hard drive and the next day plugged it in to use and it wouldn’t work. I showed it to a pc repair shop and they said it has failed. I am not sure if it makes a clicking noise or anything as I was using it in public and couldn’t hear it. I’m looking for a quote for data recovery, it holds a lot of my medical school files and study videos on it, with exams soon this is a huge loss! Please let me know a quote or give me a call, looking forward to hearing from you. I am from london so I would use one of the London centres
Thanks for your enquiry. Is the data on your hard drive sensitive? ie. is the information on there private? If yes then there are various data recovery protocols that have to be applied when retrieving the files from the hard drive. You are quite welcome to call in at any of the London centres.
WD My Passport
Hard driver does not show up when connected to computer so unable to open any files. Looking to recover the files on the drive.
Is there a price estimate of how much this would cost and how long it would take?
The costs for having the data taken off a hard drive depend on if there’s anything wrong with the hard drive. If it’s working correctly then it’s a flat fee depending on how many files are on the hard drive. As you say your hard driver doesn’t show up when connected to the computer I assume that there’s a fault on your hard drive – if this is correct then you’ll need a data recovery service to get the files off and the cost for this is around £600.
Western digital Hard drive was not recognised by laptop when starting up. Pescado have looked at it and said to mention them for a rate.
Thank you for your enquiry – I’ve not a clue who Pescado are? Are they a computer firm or a data recovery company?
I have an Acer Aspire E1-571 that is a bit old by now to be fair…
It has been giving some problems, such as wi-fi connection and sometimes it was simply too slow. I think that’s what happens when it has 5 years on top of it with everyday Photoshop usage…
One day, I was working on it and it was running slow so I decided to restart it. When that happened, it never turned on again.
It gave me a message saying “Preparing automatic repair” for 3 hours; blank screen for another 2 hours; and “repairing errors of the disk” for another 8 hours. After those 8 hours, I forced the shutdown and when it turned on again, the first and second status only lasted 5 minutes each and the third one keep coming up. I left it for two days and nothing changed.
Basically, I can’t access my laptop and I have plenty of data there that I need to recover! University and work stuff especially…
Could you guys give me a quote of how much would be to recover the data? I don’t need to fix the laptop. I just need desperatly to recover all the data I have there…
My hdds pcb is dead and I would like to ask if you can repair it by swapping with a good one and changing the main controller chip. How much would cost that I live on Lombard Street in London I can send it to you by post.
The hard drive appears to have failed. The computer won’t boot and boot screen says there is no hard drive available to boot from. I would like to know if it is possible (and what the cost would be) to recover the data from the drive:
We would like to see if our Acer external hard drive can be recovered. The main files to recover are important pictures from our family. The drive is not detectable anymore when we plug in. HDD was beeping. A friend opened it and now beeps even worse. Containing personal data. 2TB HDD. Data about 800Gb. I would like to have quotation from you.
I have accidentally erased / formatted a Seagate 7200rpm USB 3 2TB external hard drive. The drive contained video files and project files and I need to get them retrieved. Is this possible? I haven’t used the drive since formatting.
Ain’t used in a long time. It has all my music and photos, videos music from over the years. Yesterday my was broke so hoped to get all music from the external but when i connect it it shows nothing and says almost empty but i know it was almost full. Anyway to retrieve it?

Went to format a drive and computer selected a different drive. unplugged it about 10sec in to formatting it so now wont mount. its a seagate 4tb drive and i need to recover about 500gig of photos and my iphoto cat off it. there is other info on it but i have those backed up already.
i just need a rough quote of cost to recover.
We require the data to be removed from approximately 250 removable SAS hard drives from mostly HP Pro Reliant servers prior to reselling. They are at a site in Camden, London. Please could you also let me know if there is availability over the next week.
My laptop does not recognise the hard drive when connected via USB. I have tried on multiple devices and had the same problem. It’s probably beyond my budget but I was just wondering (roughly) how much it would cost to retrieve music from my iPod classic?
Whenever you save important information on a hard disk drive, you take the chance of losing that info because hard disk drives can break for a range of different reasons. If you’re not computer literate, losing data on a hard drive may be difficult as you may not know what to do to regain your data. Luckily, there are businesses which will help you get that data back. These are called data recovery businesses and they can retrieve data from nearly any kind of hard drive in almost any kind of condition. One such company is called Data Recovery London and is based in the city, so if you find yourself in a scenario where you’ve lost valuable info you ought not presume that this data can not be retrieved.
Sometimes when there’s no damage to the hard disk, software programs can be utilized to assist you regain your data by yourself. There are usually trial versions that can be found on the net that may tell you what they can and can’t recover first. If you choose you want to regain the data they find you’ll have to purchase the software which usually costs several pounds. A word-of caution though, what may initially seem to be a simple hard drive trouble may be something far more serious and striving to recover the data yourself may cause many more problems. So if in doubt, you should seek professional assistance since there might be issues inside your disc that prevent it from functioning properly.
There are a few companies that specialise in repairing damaged hard-drives. In the complete process of retrieving your data, theses data recovery businesses may also fix your hard disk. Kinds of the difficulties data recovery businesses can repair include broken boards, mechanical hard drive errors including the ‘click of death’ and beeping hard drives. Understand that just because your hard-disk breaks or the information on it seems to have disappeared, this does not mean that the data is lost forever. Skilled data retrieval companies that will find and rescue lost data on a damaged hard drive. This is useful since it insures that it is not going to occur again.
